Pale Swallow-wort or Dog Strangling Vine, painted as part of a series of invasive plants. Here across the road from the Spencerville Fairground, it has made a waist-high tangled mass of vines spreading up a gentle slope between the trees. Behind me, individual vines climbed head-high into the shade of the woods. I painted the scene on-site, and brought home plants in flower, pod, and seed, to paint around the frame.
