White Pine Among the Boulders, print on canvas 12 x 12 in.
Aleta painted the original of this print in oils on an 8x8 inch birch panel, on 22 June 2018, sitting on a mossy boulder, pin front of an imposing White Pine in the Spednic Natural Protected Area, east of McAdam, New Brunswick. This is hilly forested terrain, full of gullies and boulder fields, carpeted by moss. The trunk is a mighty column sculpted in bas relief by grooved and plated bark, and towering its fine-needled crown up against the sky. She considered looking up to paint, but decided instead, to commune with the base of this giant at her own level, where it emerges from the rusty litter of needles that covers rocks heaved by its roots.
This canvas print is sure to make a statement in any space. It's hand-stretched on a poly-cotton blend canvas with a matte finish coating.
I’ve really bonded to this mama Snapping Turtle - she’s got me thinking about the lives of turtles, their vulnerabilities and hardships. Read my blog post at https://karstaddailypaintings.blogspot.com/?m=1
